Michigan Dance Council is sponsoring Michigan Youth Dance Festival on May 6 hosted by University of Michigan Department of Dance in their brand new state of the art Dance Building!
The Festival is a full day of workshops and master classes taught by outstanding dance artists. The cost per school/studio is $100 for all students to attend. In addition, the participant fee is $50 per student for all classes, meals and the evening concert ticket. For an additional $10 per student, there is an opportunity for the dancers to audition for summer scholarships to various dance organizations in Michigan.
This years' Festival will culminate with a 7 pm. concert that showcases the MDC Honors Dance Ensemble premiering a screen dance by this year's Maggie Allesse choreography winner- Natalia de Miguel, as well as adjudicated high school dances, private dance studio pieces, college works and performances by two professional Michigan dance companies: Jodie Randolph Dance and the Grand Rapids Ballet. A special Afterglow will follow.
School and student participants must register and pay all fees online through the MDC website. Spaces are limited. Extra tickets for the Showcase Dance Concert can be reserved by contacting Bridget Vander Hoff at bridgetmvanderhoff@gmail.com
